Looking for inspiration this October half-term? Join us for artist-led sketch/walks, spellbinding storytelling, and sustainable sculpture, and get creative this Autumn with The Ruskin.

Tickets are free, but pre-booking is essential. Workshops are designed for children aged 6+.

Signs of Nature: Family Sketch/Walk with Jo Blaker

On Tuesday 26th October, join visual artist Jo Blaker for a free, family sketch-walk amongst the trees at Green Lancaster’s EcoHub: slow down, notice what you notice, and try new ways of recording nature.

Jo will guide you to tune-in to nature’s details, and capture some Autumnal magic with a variety of marks.

Tales under the Tree: with Storyteller and Woodcarver Richard O’Neill

On Thursday 28th October, meet us in The Storey Gardens for spellbinding tales with sixth generation Romani master storyteller and woodcarver, Richard O’Neill.

Throughout history, wooden toys made by craftsmen and used by storytellers have captured the imagination of young and old alike. Through Richard’s original stories, and discover an imagination-filled journey through the history of craftsmanship and storytelling.

Start from Scrap: Recycled Sculpture with Rose Miller

On Friday 29th October, tear, tape, rip and recycle! Visual artist Rose Miller will lead a sustainable-sculpture-making workshop, and guide you in 3D making using a variety of recycled and natural materials.
